Weekend Fun

Labor Day weekend was spent "laboring". Our house is still a work in progress and Nate has been staying up until the wee hours of the morning to get it all done. I've actually dragged him to bed a few nights in hopes that he won't get sick from lack of sleep. It's amazing to me how guys can go forever with no sleep--and he never even crashes on the couch either!
Thankfully, we were able to sneak in a little down time to swim with the kids. Our pool is really small, but we all love it anyway and the kids especially love "family pool" as they call it. In their opinion, though, our whole family really isn't in the pool because Buddy isn't in there. They really do consider him a family member. ;)

He's been really, really clingy lately. Sometimes it's frustrating but most of the time I enjoy the extra cuddles.

Summer is still in full swing here. As much as I desperately want to feel cooler temperatures pull on a cardigan, I have to embrace summer for a while longer. I'm ok with that. I'll burn a Fall candle inside in the a/c while the kids swim and swing get more tan every day.

The cousins had sleep-overs before Labor Day--the girls at my house and the boys at Rob and Jo's. They had an ice cream and cinnamon roll tea party at 9pm, followed by a movie. I love creating these memories for them!

On Labor Day we had our first company over--Nate's family--for a cookout. The kids swam in the pool, dumped plates of food on the floor, ran in and out of the house 500 times and mainly loved every minute together while we talked and laughed and ate. God has blessed us with a beautiful home and filling it often with people we love makes us very happy.

Back to school today. Hope you all had a great weekend!
