Comforting Chaos

Blogging has been put on the back burner this month as I had (and still have) family in town. My sisters and I are very serious about our talks, so taking time to blog just seemed like such a waste when instead we could be discussing the latest new recipe, what color nail polish looked good, whose hair looked cute, and who felt fat. Seriously, these are important thing to sisters, so my apologies to my readers who were left in the dark wondering where I went.

 When family is in town, life is anything but my present normal, and everything like my past normal. I like it. It's loud, there are people everywhere, and at least sixteen conversations are going on at once.

 It's chaotic and comforting, all at the same time. There's an unspoken feeling of urgency to spend every minute possible together, so we go on little sleep every night hoping to get in one last conversation at 2am. My parents oversee it all, cooking, cleaning, adding lots of laughs and years of wisdom to our talks. Basically, it's unorganized bliss for a few weeks. They are mostly gone now, and I miss it. My house is too quiet.

Before our missions conference, the kids had dress up night at church. They were Egyptians, created from a few thrifted accessories and other things I had laying around the house.

The Missions Conference was our best yet. I say that every year, but this time I really mean it. This was taken at Caleb's first service back after 9 years of being in prison unjustly. You can't really describe the Spirit in that meeting, so you'll just have to take my word for it. We heard from amazing men of God and each message was almost too much to take in, so I want to go back and listen to them to glean all that I can.

Nathan got his first hair cut (just a little trim around the ears) and was obviously pretty excited about it. ;)

The month was full of family time, which can also be described as happy time. The pictures speak for themselves.

My sister, brother-in-law and nephew will be with us until Thanksgiving, but other than that, the house is pretty quiet. The weather has finally cooled down and we've started our first fires of the year. It's hard to believe that the holidays are already upon us, that another year is almost gone! Tomorrow starts Thanksgiving preparation and I can hardly wait. I hope you all have a wonderful week and a wonderful Thanksgiving, where ever you are!
