God is Good

Today I was reading in my Bible in Psalms, and the Lord was just so encouraging to me concerning the situation with Adam. Psalms 118:18-19, "The Lord hath chastened me sore:but he hath not given me over to death. Open to me the gates of righteousness: I will go into them, and I will praise the Lord."
It just seems like the Lord was really telling me that this is what Adam will do eventually. He will come back again and praise the Lord, and in the meantime, the Lord will chasten himm.
I was so happy all day about it. Maybe it seems crazy, but it realy spoke to me and was encouraging to me!

Missions Conference

Our missions conference is coming up this Sunday. The MC has a very special place in my heart, seeing that 4 years ago is when I walked in CCBC for the very first time. I was kind of nervous, but everyone seemed really, really friendly and made me feel at ease. We waited in line to eat dinner and I still remmeber what I put on my plate that night: meatballs, salad and some egg noodles. I found a seat next to my dad and sat down. A younger college guy came down and sat next to my dad and started talking to him. My dad was sititng on the end and there was still one more seat available when all of the sudden the best looking, blonde haired blue eyed young guy that I had ever seen in my life came and sat directly across from me. I was shocked. I had never seen such rare beauty in a male before and I couldn't eat. I definately couldn't look at him! So I sat there, like an idiot, and picked at my food.
Throughout the week, Nathan and I talked a little and I was enthralled every time I talked to him, but I knew I couldn't like him because he was with another girl. I was pretty sure that she was the luckiest girl in the whole world and I thought, "too bad I won't ever get a guy like him! He's a knockout, loves God, respectful, sweet, athlectic and not a goof ball!" It was amazing--like I had just met the perfect guy. I was sad to leave that week, but I wished him and his girlfriend the best and we went on our way.
The next year as we were flying to Texas, I wondered if Nate was married yet, or almost ready to be. I was kind of in my own world walking down the stairs at the airport and to the luggage when I turned around, and there he was!
"Hi, Jenna."
Oh my GOSH!!! He remembered my name! Wow! I didn't think he would give me the time of day, and yet he actually acknowledged me!
A group of us went to eat right after that and we got to talk a little more. Later I found out that his girlfriend broke up with him. I felt bad that it didn't work out for them, but more importantly, I thought that she was extremely stupid for dumping him. (I later found that there were some family situations that forced her to do that and she really didn't want to)
A few days later, my dad told me that Nate had asked to court me. I started crying! I couldn't believe it! What a wonderful God that he would bring us together!
The rest is history. We are now crazy in love and have a beautiful baby girl. God is so good to us!

CRISIS!!!

Our a/c broke yesterday. I was already taking a Sunday nap so I didn't know anything about it, but Nate was prowling around underneath our house, trying to figure out what is wrong. He found out what the problem is (I could explain it to you...but that would be really boring) and now he just has to figure out where he can get the parts to fix it! Now, I will remind you that yesterdays date was October 21. This would be considered late October, almost November...we're almost in to the holidays now...yes, it's fall and coming upon winter! But not so in Texas. I can assure you that when I woke up yesterday to my husband telling me that the ac was broken, I panicked. My first thought was, "where are we going to stay tonight" and my second thought, "well, now we can't have anyone over tonight or until we get this fixed!" It was boiling hot outside, the house is getting stuffy and I am wondering why we should even have to worry about this at the end of October!
Well, the Lord knew, and he sent a "cold" front our way. The high today is 60. Unbelieveable! We pulled out the heater, and we will not need the a/c, well, for at least, today. Tommorow could be 100 again. You never know in Texas!

Photos

I know that most of you are on facebook so I just uploaded pictures on there. I know I haven't done it on here for a while. If you are not on facebook, comment to me and put your email and I will send you a link. It is a lot easier to upload them onto there.
Ash and Feli are here and we are having a great time although we haven't done too much. Tomorrow we are going to the outlet malls all day. We are pretty excited about that, especially that it will be like the first thing that we have done. Thursday night we are going boating and to a restaurant that's on the lake. Sounds romantic, huh? :) We are actually going with 2 other couples so it will be a group of us. Then this weekend we are going camping if you can believe that. I hate camping, but I will endure for my husbands sake. I actually don't mind "camping", like the whole fire/marshmallows/cooking over the fire/fishing whatever, but I'm not really into a tent. I have never slept in a tent. I prefer campers. :)
I will let you know how it goes...who knows, maybe I will love it and want to do it all the time! :) I'm sure that I will have tons of fun.
Love you all!!!!

Cake Vent!

Today I was making a beautiful homemade chocolate pound cake for our family night.I made the mistake of putting it into a spring form pan instead of a bunt pan. The spring form pan had a pretty top insert and I thought that would look nicer. Well, what do you know, here come the cake, oozing out all over the oven. At this point, I put it on a cookie sheet. Well, it continued to ooze and I knew that it was ruined. I WAS MAD. At myself, the cake, the pan and the oven. I was mad because I wasted so many ingredients. So, here I go to make another cake! This one turned out good but it was a frustrating process. :) Anyway, I'm happy now cause my second cake turned out perfect and we will eat it tonight.
Thank you for listening! :)
